Allen E. Fishman

CEO and Founder

Allen E. Fishman, founder and chief executive officer of TAB Boards International, Inc., is one of the country’s foremost experts on privately owned businesses. Allen’s advice and perspectives have assisted business owners around the world to achieve greater personal and business success. In 1990, Allen founded The Alternative Board®, an invitation-only membership organization of business owners. TAB provides advisory services to business owners by facilitating monthly peer board meetings and providing private coaching sessions. TAB facilitates boards in several countries with locations in more than 100 cities.

To further help privately held business owners achieve greater personal and business success, Allen also developed Strategic Business Leadership®, an easy-to-use business process that moves business owners from a leadership style based upon the “idea of the week” to one based upon strategic thinking. Strategic Business Leadership® is a unique one-on-one program that includes a series of simple exercises designed to help entrepreneurs merge their personal and business goals to set a course toward success—on their own terms.

Allen has been a frequent guest on television programs such as CNNfn, First Business, CNBC’s Power Lunch, Bloomberg and USA Network and radio shows such as Public Radio International’s Marketplace. He has also been featured in business articles in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and The Los Angeles Times. Allen has also been honored to address organizations such as the Mobil Oil Distributor Group, the Consumer Electronics Industries Association, the National Association of Retail Dealers of America (“NARDA”), the Institute of Management Science and the National Association of Corporate Growth.


Jason P. Zickerman

As President and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Zickerman oversees TAB's strategic plan to ensure the organization’s long-term growth and directs all operations for TAB's Corporate World Headquarters.  He leads an executive team in charge of the marketing, training, field support, franchise expansion, finance, technology and innovation departments.

From his early accounting career at Ernst & Young in New York City and through the 1990s, Mr. Zickerman held various management roles in finance and operations for employers in New York, California and Colorado. Mr. Zickerman joined TAB in May 2001 as our Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He became a member of the Board of Directors on April 1, 2002. In January 2004, he assumed the role of our President, and retains the role of our Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Zickerman speaks often as an expert in strategic planning for small and medium sized businesses as well as family-owned businesses.  He has been featured in international, national and regional media outlets, such as Entrepreneur Magazine, Investor's Business Daily, Forbes.com, Fox Business News, Small Business Success magazine, The Baltimore Daily Record, The New York Enterprise Report, Entrepreneur Radio and many Business Journals, specifically educating privately held businesses to the benefits of peer advisory boards and coaching, and how TAB can help these businesses achieve their vision of success.

Additionally, Mr. Zickerman is a certified franchise executive, a designation from the International Franchise Association's Educational Foundation recognizing about 500 franchise executives around the world. Mr. Zickerman also serves on the Board of Governors of the Institute for Certified Franchise Executives.


David Halpern

David Halpern began his career as a Vice President in the family business, E. J. Korvette, NY, NY, one of America's first discount chains with sales over a billion dollars and listed on the NYSE. Mr. Halpern later became Executive Vice President of Brooks Fashion Stores, a 1700-store women’s clothing chain in NY, NY, and also listed on the NYSE.

Mr. Halpern was a Franchisee of the Esprit Clothing Co. located in San Francisco, California and owned and operated his own chain of Esprit Stores. After a five-year period of operating 180 retail stores in St. Louis, MO, under the name of Networks, Mr. Halpern became President of another retail operation in St. Louis named Best Sav’ns where he was a member of a TAB Board. With its sale in 1994, Mr. Halpern became a facilitator for TAB, and then took over as President and Director in 1998.

Today, Mr. Halpern is responsible for refining products and coaching facilitators.
